BSc Human Nutrition and Postgraduate Diploma Dietetics, NZ Registered Dietitian

I grew up in Christchurch and spent most of my time in the pool as a swimmer. I have always loved food, but it wasn’t until I started to get more competitive with my swimming that I realised I had an interest in human nutrition, and how much it could impact on my performance.

I went on to complete my undergraduate degree in Human Nutrition at Otago University, and then realised I couldn’t handle the cold any more and moved up to Auckland to complete my Masters in Dietetics. During my masters study I was lucky enough to gain experience working with elite and amateur athletes. I then went on to work at both Auckland City and Whangarei hospital in a range of clinical areas. Now I reside in beautiful Wellington, and when I’m not working I enjoy being at the beach surfing or relaxing with a good book!

“I was active and ate reasonably healthy meals, but started to have ongoing, disruptive stomach discomfort. Kate was able to guide me through a very difficult time and help me to understand the challenges and choices necessary to enable me to feel better. At the end, I was feeling better than before all the trouble started and more confident that I could handle any issues in the future.”

“Kate is knowledgeable and considerate, really putting clients first with good, timely advice.”
