A classic version of this summery, popular dip!


  • ½ large cucumber peeled and grated

  • 1 ½ cups unsweetened Greek yogurt

  • 1 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint and/or dill

  • Juice of ½ lemon (approx. 1 tbsp)

  • 1  clove garlic, very finely chopped or pressed

  • Salt and black pepper

 How to make:

  1. Firstly, remove the excess liquid from the grated cucumber. Either squeeze it in a clear teatowel, squeeze over a sieve with your hands or put into a few sheets of paper towel and squeeze the liquid out that way.

  2. Place the yogurt, olive oil, herbs, lemon juice, garlic into a bowl and add the grated cucumber, stir and season to taste. Add more herbs or lemon if needed.

  3. Serve tzatziki straight away or chill if you need it later on.
