What's the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?

Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist without any qualifications.

There are mixed opinions and views, even between registered professionals at times, but we are all held to account by a professional board meaning we have to practice EVIDENCE based nutrition.

To avoid confusion, check to see if the person you follow or are taking advice from is registered.

… oh and if anyone is telling you to count calories and weigh your food walk away! Diet culture and focusing on food in that way needs to be ditched… one way or any another, it messes with your mind!

Our team at Mission Nutrition are all registered and have between 5 and 20 years experience.

I personally trained as a dietitian and was a registered dietitian for many years, but for several reasons now work as an NZ registered nutritionist.

Thanks to @foodgroup_nz for allowing me to share their infographic above which is so good!
